From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Note: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the main group to begin their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing kicked off the campaign’s events—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, desires retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party reach places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for the traitor.
What’s Next?
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Fans can expect discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
