Large-scale Russian Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the America, European nations and the major economies - in delivering defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets struck energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured intense attacks overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were injured.

The strikes follow periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
